Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the Hokkaido Joint Conferences will be held in Sapporo from January 9th to January 11th, 2024.

Hokkaido, Japan's second largest island and comprises the largest and northernmost prefecture, making up its own region. The largest city on Hokkaidō is its capital, Sapporo, which is also its only ordinance-designated city.  The Hokkaido region can offer so many different types of food experiences. Sapporo cuisine is based on what is produced locally in Hokkaido. This means seafood and dairy. Hokkaido is one of the main farming regions of the country. They produce loads of vegetables, corn, and even Japanese fruits like melon.  There are wineries in Hokkaido and dairy producers making milk, yogurt, ice cream, and even cheese. Because Sapporo is the capital of Hokkaido, it’s possible to find all the best foods in Hokkaido right in the center of Sapporo.

We sincerely hope that the COVID-19 pandemic will completely behind us by 2024 and that we can conduct a social gathering where we can have frank conversations about research and education, transcending the boundaries of research fields.  We look forward to meeting you in the silvery northern land and anticipating the attendance and presentations of all colleagues.
